Toast and Jelly

© Michael J. Bryant, BMI

Toast and jelly, jelly and toast
It's the strawberry jelly that he likes the most
Spread a little jelly, put a tickle in the belly
He loves it when his Grammy puts the jelly on toast

Fix a plate of s'ghetti, she's hungry and she's ready
It's slipp'ry and it's yummy and she thinks it tastes swell
It gets a little messy when the sauce gets on her dressy
She eats it with her fingers 'cause she likes it so well

Spread the peannut butter, they'll ask you for another
Creamy, smooth or chunky, it's all fun to eat
Add a ripe banana and some honey from Savannah
Leave the crust on, it makes a real nice treat

You bring out the ice cream, I betcha hear 'em all scream
Choc'late or vanilla, it's a creamy cool treat
Sprinkle on the sprinkles and some little choc'late krinkles
Whipped cream and a cherry, serve it cold and sweet

Toast and jelly, jelly and toast
Toast and jelly

Serve us up a cocoa when its wintertime and so cold;
add a pinch of cinnamon to make it just right
Now be a good fellow and add the marshmellow
A steamin' cuppa cocoa keeps 'em warm all night

Toast and jelly jelly and toast
Toast and jelly

He loves it when his Grammy putsa jelly on toast
He loves it when his Grammy putsa jelly on toast
He loves it when his Grammy putsa jelly on the toast
Babadoo be-bop ba-zwee-val dee dough
